Archive for ‘Stinz #09’
The only thing that doesn’t improve with age is temper. It often just gets worse.
Without the Rear Echelon, there is no pay, food, bullets, or bodies in the right bags (if it’s a little war where the bodies come back, that is) – but some people forget they’re supposed to be support, and not the point of the process. Anybody else we know like that?
Stinz is stinzing out – and it’s going to get worse.
Oh, this stuff is so much better.
When I do hack work, it’s awful, no matter how hard I try.
Every one in a while you get a drawing you did you just love. That last panel is one of mine.
Stinz is a good officer, but blood does this to him. Soldiers have to be – or should be – resourceful, so his have learned to use it.
By now the enemy had learned who he was, and didn’t run just because he was weird.
Hm. According to Brüna, he was a Captain when this happened. But even in my mind, he was called by his later title.
So… either the enemy already has an incorrect nickname for him, or this demonstrates how memory can be anachronistic, even for the person who was “there.”
Again, just following the story my German friend told me about her father.
Can you just imagine having Stinz for your officer?
“Swearing on communications” is always a no-no, but I can’t imagine why, considering how soldiers talk.
Stinz shouldn’t be embarrassed about needing oats – he wouldn’t be at home – but he’s the oddball out here, and painfully aware of it.
